Wednesday, January 18, 2012 11:30 am Capital Building, Albany Lobby Day 2012. The League of Women Voters of NYS will hold its annual Lobby Day on January 18, 2012. All members are invited to join us in Albany to learn about the League's positions, tour the capitol, watch the Assembly or Senate in action, and possibly meet some key legislative staffers.
Thursday, January 19, 2012 7:00 p.m. Gannett Auditorium, Skidmore College Efforts to Suppress Voting Rights. Legislation that restricts voting rights is being enacted in more than half our states, disenfranchising thousands of elderly, minority and youth. Find out what's happening and why, and what YOU can do about it!

Monday, January 30, 2012 7-9 pm First United Methodist Church, 603 State St.Schenectady, NY Schenectady Neighbors for Peace Invites You to View an Important new Film. THE FORGOTTEN BOMB explores our pre-conceptions about nuclear weapons and their history, investigates how they inform our sense of identity and discovers what the Bomber can learn from the Bombed.

Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to attend. Light snacks will be served.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 6-9 pm 841 Londonderry Rd. Potluck Planning Mtg./New Member Orientation. Come with all your good ideas for the League's direction in 2012. We will be discussing the Local Program and the LWVNYS Issues in Brief. (Both are included in this issue of the Bulletin.)

As this is a dinner meeting, please bring a salad to share. Contact Connie Young (393-7061) with your suggestions and confirmations.

This year we are adding a mini-orientation session from 5:15 PM to about 5:45 PM to the beginning of our Planning Meeting. If you are a new or prospective member and would like to be our guest and attend, please contact Lynda Nichols at NicholsL@nycap.rr.com or call her at 374-1643.
