Wednesday, May 5, 2010 TBA TBA Albany On the Record. Mark your calendars for "Albany On the Record" on May 5th in Albany! The state League, in coordination with NYPIRG, Common Cause and Citizens Union, has received funding to organize an educational forum in Albany on government reform issues. The gubernatorial candidates and current legislative leaders will be invited to respond to questions on their support for reform efforts in the area of campaign finance, redistricting, election law (absentee ballot process, voting machines) and ethics. The event will include free busing from around the state to Albany to encourage people to attend. The goal is to obtain at least 150 organizations to support the event + and approximately 300 people to attend. We will be sending you more information soon to help rally our members + but spread the word and get people excited. We need to show the politicians that people want a change in Albany!

Monday, May 10, 2010 3:30 p.m. YWCA Working Group on Girls.
Tuesday, May 11, 2010 7 p.m. Schenectady High School/Black Box Theater. Meet the Candidates' Schenectady City Schools' Board of Education. Schenectady County residents will be able to watch 'Meet the Candidates' on Open Stage Media Channel 16 and also streamed on the web. Air dates for both the Channel 16 and streamed forum viewings are: Weds. May 12th at 7pm; Thurs. May 13th at 9:30pm; Sat. May15th at 7:30pm; and Mon. May 17th at 1pm.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010 5:30-9:00 p.m. The Edison Club, 891 Riverview Road, Rexford Annual Dinner and Business Meeting. Menu: Choice of Baked Scrod, Chicken Alexander, or Veggie Lasagna; coffee/tea and dessert included. Price is $25.00; call Connie Young at 393-7061 with your dinner selection.

Speaker: To help celebrate the LWVUS's 90th anniversary and the LWV Schenectady County's 85th anniversary, Debra Kosud will give a presentation about women's rights activist Elizabeth Cady Stanton and woman's equality.
