Wednesday, March 10, 2010 7-9 p.m. Schenectady Gazette, 2345 Maxon Road, Schenectady. The presentation will be in the boardroom. Plenty of well-lit parking is available. Sunshine Week. A Forum on open government. Bob Freeman will discuss FOIL (Freedom of Information Legislation) and transparency in government. In addition, Judy Patrick of the Gazette will also be a speaker.
Saturday, March 13, 2010 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. The Holiday Inn, Schenectady Empire State Passenger Association Annual Meeting. The meeting includes buffet lunch, keynote speaker Ann Purdue, Director, High Speed Rail Program, NYS Department of Transportation, and a chance to mingle with others who enjoy trains and train travel. ESPA is a volunteer network of citizens working to improve and expand the AMTRAK intercity passenger system. New funding opportunities coming out of Washington seem to indicate that changes are coming our way and citizen input is an essential part of the process.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010 7-9 p.m. The Community Hospice of Schenectady County, 1411 Union Street New LWV Program: Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment. Program: Discussion about Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (MOLST). Presenters will be Benita Zahn and Dr. Paul Heasley from Community Hospice.
Wednesday, April 7, 2010 7-9 p.m. McChesney Room of the Central Library The Health Needs of Schenectady County. Presented by Health Care speakers From Ellis Hometown Health and The County Health Department
